Coincidentally, I've got a story coming out in Cruising World some time this year about Port Davey…and it starts with the three of us coming down Mt. Rugby with the clouds of smoke gathering overhead…MikeMikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04307788103369409650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903828557671115365.post-43712980888564316792015-02-17T11:25:10.675+11:002015-02-17T11:25:10.675+11:00Hey Michael - About Eric…well, isn't that the ...Hey Michael - About Eric…well, isn't that the pose everyone wants to assume when they're seasick? And, yeah, I hear you about the freeing feeling of not living in a floating fortress… But there is something, too, about being savvy and tough and a hard mark for predators. Sigh!Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04307788103369409650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903828557671115365.post-87736468296134736062015-02-15T16:24:09.905+11:002015-02-15T16:24:09.905+11:00Hi guys, we have been following your adventures fo...Hi guys, we have been following your adventures for a while now and are in awe of where you have got to since we last saw you in Port Davey, Tasmania! Sorry to hear about your dinghy. We have the same one with the sail kit, and RIB, lots of fun. Nice to see you are now making it easier for followers to comment from different platforms. We have started our own website. www.sv-takeiteasy.com We would love you to visit! Sucks reading about your dinghy loss. I know that vacationers often assume a defensive posture away from home for two weeks, cautioned by guidebooks and whatnot. But we simply can't live in that mindset when traveling is our life and I know that I feel (irresponsibly and increasingly) the opposite. I grew up with a guy who loved to reflect that people are basically honest and who lived accordingly (never locked his car). Thought he was foolish and led many a prank to try and rouse him. Yet, now I feel I've slipped into the same perspective. Weird, but freeing, until some thing is lost, at which point losing that mindset is probably the larger casualty.
